Jeb Stuart was born on Feb. 6, 1833,at Laurel Hill, Patrick County, Virginia. Graduated West Point 1854, played a leading role in the capture of  John Brown in 1859. The flamboyant Stuart is considered one of the Confederacy's finest cavalry General. He was mortally wounded at Yellow Tavern, Virginia, and died on May 12, 1864.
