George Armstrong Custer was born Dec. 5, 1839, in New Rumly, Ohio. In 1861 he Graduating from West Point last in his class. By June 29, 1863, he became the Union's youngest general, and   command a bragade of Michigan cavalry he nicknamed his Wolverines. However his reputation falterd after the Civil War during it Custer was known as a brave and daring fighter who was loved by his men.
